RC #13 Celebrates 250^th Anniversary of the Shakers in America

Hancock Shaker Village celebrates the many contributions of leader Ann Lee and her followers. Exhibits throughout the village honor Mother Ann, the Shaker Sisters who lived in Hancock, and the many women who have brought the Shaker story to life.

Come join us for a walk through the beautiful Innisfree Gardens in Millbrook! See the magnificent cup gardens that interconnect the various landscapes that intertwine the cultivated and the natural wooded wilderness. Walk across a meadow, beside a stream, lake and bog to get a glimpse of nature’s wonders.

Come join us for a self guided tour of the Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum on Friday, May 10^th at 1:00pm.  Come immerse yourself in the history of the Roosevelts and the impact they continue to have on our contemporary life.

From January through June of 2024, the Mid-Hudson Region Office (MHRO) will lend our efforts to help John Mannion win the Congressional Primary in Central New York.

One of the ways we will help is with a door knocking day in his region! We will take a bus from the MHRO together and go door knocking for the day!

New York State United Teachers, representing educators across the entire state, released numbers today showing that the governor’s plan to cut Foundation Aid would negatively impact every one of New York’s nearly 700 districts.

As we look back on 2023, there’s a lot to be proud of as NYSUT members.

It’s been over a decade since Tier 6 was added to the New York state pension system. Since then, over 100,000 NYSUT members earn a significantly reduced pension as compared to earlier tiers.
