About Us

Retiree Council #13 represents the retired teachers and school-related professionals of the counties of Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Sullivan and Ulster. RC#13 is your voice in retirement, as membership in New York State United Teachers (NYSUT) is for life. The council participates in much of what our in-service counterparts do thus ensuring the voice of retired members is heard. As a retiree council, we are able to participate in:

• NYSUT Representative Assembly
• Committee of 100
• NYSUT Conferences, Workshops and Trainings

In addition, RC#13 offers various activities and events for members to participate in and engage with fellow retirees. The council annually holds a Fall Conference and Spring Luncheon, walking groups, and activities such as phone banking in support of Pro-Education Candidates. We also hold workshops and webinars for all our retirees on a wide variety of topics throughout the year.

Membership in Retiree Council #13 keeps you connected not only with your Union, but opens the door to a wide variety of activities to participate in.
